Fouth of July.  Independence Day.  The “official” beginning of summer.

Mascot

The past few days have been sad days at Mascot as we said goodbye to one of our own ‘mascots’, Lola. Affectionately called “goose” by her loving owners, Jeff & John.

While Lola wasn’t my dog, she spent the last 5+ years “working” at our office and was certainly part of our “mascot” family. Everyday around 4pm she would come over to my desk, doing her full body wag, toy in mouth and try to climb up on my lap to say “hello”. She was the sweetest dog, always happy to see a friendly face.

Lola had a wonderful life with her family – Jeff & John, her best friend Max & her new baby brother, Blake. When she wasn’t at the office “working”, she was running on the beach or around her yard, always enjoying life. I know that we all keep expecting to see her waltz into our offices, toy in mouth to say hello – but we know that she is making new friends and “keeping the peace”, as she always did, somewhere over the rainbow in doggie heaven.

Thank you to all of you for your kind words & condolences, I know that Jeff & John have especially appreciated the support.

Goodbye Lola, thanks for being a part of our Mascot “family” & always proving that big dogs love fashion, too. It won’t be the same around here without you.

It’s a chilly day today, and what a better way to spend the morning than snuggled up with the pups and watching Good Morning America. Maggie Gallant, a pet and lifestyle expert and Mascot fan, went on this morning to talk about Holiday Gifts for your Furry Friends, and featured our Plaid Puffers and Repp Stripe Collar and Lead as great gifts for the preppy pooch.  Thanks Maggie, and GMA!

Even though we are based outside of Boston, we LOVE New York Magazine. Their “Not So Last Minute” Holiday Gift Guide has some great ideas for all of your two legged and four legged recipients.  They asked us for some ideas from some of our favorite stores in New York, and so we recommended Raising Rover and Baby on Manhattan’s  Upper East Side.  They ended up featuring our plaid leather leads-  Thanks NY Mag!

This year we are thankful for many things, especially our customers (furry, and not-so-furry) and our fans!  Without your continued support we would not be where we are today.  Your support means the world to us – so….THANK YOU!

It’s been busy here at the Mascot offices thanks to some great holiday love for our Reversible Plaid Puffers. We’ve already posted about Pet Sugar’s fun piece about the puffers and the delightfully coordinated Plaid Collars. Our friends at Real Simple included the puffers in their 10 Great Deals on Pet Gear feature in the November issue, and iVillage put them in their 25 Fabulous Gifts for Dogs and Cats holiday guide. Also,  AND, Country Living included them in their Gift Guide.  Everyone is mad for plaid this holiday season!

Mascot LOVES these local artists: check out Jen Skelley and Nate Duval-a super talented, creative duo specializing in illustration and design. We love their Boston Terrier baby and kid t-shirts- it’s the perfect holiday gift!

The Purplebone is an amazing dog supply store located in Notting Hill, London. Julian, the owner, is the creative mastermind behind this fantastic shop and always does a great job at displaying and promoting Mascot products, both in store on on his website.
